Hey, been a while. I've been busy with all kinds of things. I've been writing a lot, planning to get a little bit more ambitious with producing content, on & off site. Way to set the bar, I know. =D Anyway, I made this dungeon using the charts in the 4e D&D DMG. Also GIMP. Yeah, letters. I imagine this place as Cthulhu Temple meets Toxic Waste Facility meets FF7 Mako... Cave? Also, green. Feel free to take it for personal use, just be sure to give credit where it's due! I'd love to know what you use it for, too. One more thing! Check out the Sidetangent Fiction Magazine, from the producers of Gamerstable! It has short stories relating to RPG's & the like, some really good stuff. A story I wrote, called "Brothers," will be featured this week. Here's a permalink to the story: http://sidetangent.com/Fiction/brothers/ Until next time.

I used the random dungeon stuff from the D&D Dungeon Masters' Guide, came up w/this silly place. Two versions, playing around with color. Fun stuff! Click on the images to get the full size...
The town of Roa Ybre. Not far off are the banks of the muddy river Quoas. The river brings its own shady trade, which the town is founded upon. While decently kept & relatively peaceful, the town is run by an offshoot of the Thieves' Guild in the more developed regions. They came up the river to these flatlands & have made their way. Use it, or don't. Enjoy! Acrema. A continent? Large island? You decide, I used no scale. I didn't want to work on anything else I have in progress, so I took North America, flipped it around & abused the hell out of it to get Acrema. I like it a lot, myself. Use it if you want, just give credit where it's due (ie, to me) & let me know! This is Per, one of three major cities in the primary nation of a world I'm writing fiction/RPG adventures in. It's major export is liquor, namely Peran Ale. People here live decently, it's been a long time since war visited this land. Some hundred miles or so down river (south) is the coast, while up river lies the capital of the nation, right in the heart of the territory. I didn't go into too much detail so one could use it for anything, & I didn't use any real scale, but I think one could figure it out. It's a fairly bohemian city, with fair influence from the Druids. Violent crime is typically at a minimum, although the Thieves' Guild has a strong presence here. To the northeast is swamp & forests before the next large city, & to the southwest along the coast palm trees start to appear & the air warms to the subtropical. No one alive in Per ever remembers snow falling, but some elves may still recall the previous instance of that rare occurrence. If you use it, just be sure to give credit where it's due & leave a comment letting me know about whatever campaign you're running! I'd love to hear how/if anyone will use these. So I've found a new activity (read: soul-sucking time waster): map making! For those that don't know, my wife & I enjoy playing table-top RPG's (Dungeons & Dragons, Star Wars, etc), & lately she's been running a couple friends & I through an awesome Doctor Who game. She needed a map for a spaceship, apparently, & I've been messing around with GIMP & making some maps for my own bullshit homebrew. I was given very little detail (don't want any spoilers) & I made this. I like it, it's crashed or damaged or something. I figure it's generic enough for anything, so, if you like it, go ahead & use it. As long as you're not making money off it or anything. =D Expect (read: don't expect) another map or three from my bullshit homebrew in the future. And check out Gamerstable, the best RPG podcast in existence. Gamerstable.com! But yeah, this stuff has been eating my life. =) |
